After selecting the clay, it is necessary to extract it loose and to wait for nature to do its work of "pourrissage" of the material : it consists in letting clay get older outside during one year to be able to work it.

After that, we are going to be able to mix clay together ! Then dilute it until it becomes "barbotine" to be able to sieve it and to remove impurities.
We can then filter the product
and start the "débâtissage" of the filter.

The raw material is ready to make the stone floor:

Rolling of the stone floor with a "boudineuse" and finish handmade.
See the stages of manufacture.

The dried stone floors are put in the oven and cooked. At this stage the stone floor can be sold as such under several forms and classes:

Some picture examples :

The
"fait-main" totally handmade according to an old Roman method"

The "façon-main"of rather noble and artistic stamp.

The classical "semi-manual" in terra-cotta with a smooth aspect for a shiny result.

The "rustic semi-manual" which is a compromise between the high cost handmade and the semi-manual of lower cost for a patinated result.

Enamelled stone floor :

The enamel is a ready-made product which has to be mixed to get more sumptuous and more personal colours. Diluted in the water and applied with a pistol it is going to give us more nuance and beauty with these mixtures of colours. Decorations are applied with a paintbrush and painted one by one thanks to the creativity of our decorator and the complicity of our customers.
